Checking-in Mid Year
Ok, so we are past the midpoint check-in for the year. Have you reviewed your goals yet? Do you make it a point to check in and review them? If so, how regularly do you check-in?
What was your word for the year?
Mine was Balanise. It is a mixture of the words balance and organise. It’s because that is what I most needed at the start of the year. It is still what I need & want now. To balance my working/business and home life. To create order in every aspect of my life in a balanced and organised way.
Now is a good time to check in with your goals and see where you are and check if it’s where you want to be.
What did you say you wanted to achieve at the start of the year? How do you go about checking how far you have come along towards your goals? One way would be to break your goals down into achievable chunks. Then you check how you are getting on chunk by chunk. So if you wanted to achieve a particular goal by the end of the year what you could do is break your goal down into monthly chunks so that you aim to achieve part of your goal in August, September and so on till the end of the year.
As for me – I still have a way to go. Some things are more organised, the house is a bit tidier and I generally do on-line shopping now to save much needed time and expense (less ad-hoc, frequent shops); but there is still a long way to go.
My challenge to you :
- Think about what you would like to achieve by the end of 2015.
- Write it down in your notebook or journal
- Break it down month by month – what do you need to do?
- Check back at the beginning of every month to see how far you have come and if you need to tweak anything.
- By December, with diligent work and focus aim to complete your goal
- Lastly, Celebrate. Rinse. Repeat.
Take a look at how far you have come. Keep looking up, stay positive and keep moving forward.
Right, I’m off to get to read a chapter of the novel I’m reading in the sun – it’s one of my goals to read more fiction!
